Ukrainian and Norwegian defence industry associations UDIC and FSi have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ defence sectors.
The agreement, signed on 28 April, sees the parties recognise each other as representatives of their respective national defence industries and commit to sharing information and coordinating on matters of mutual interest.
AdvertisementThe move comes one day after the Norwegian government signed an agreement to enable production of Ukrainian-developed drones domestically. The agreement involves transferring drone technology to Norway, where it can be produced under Nato standards.
The MoU establishes a framework for developing joint initiatives, projects and activities aimed at reinforcing industrial capabilities.
AdvertisementIt also provides for the creation of a joint dialogue platform to support information exchange, partnership-building and cooperation on technology development.
As part of the agreement, the parties will facilitate joint activities, including business-to-business (B2B) meetings, exhibitions, industry delegations and official visits, with a view to expanding bilateral cooperation.
AdvertisementUDIC and FSi will also promote joint ventures, research and innovation programmes, and technology transfer aligned with their strategic interests.
The agreement underscores a shared intention to sustain dialogue between government, industry and research institutions in both countries to exchange experience, develop common positions and advance public–private cooperation in the defence and security domain.
